Nestled high in the nearby French Alps is a very special chalet. Outside the air is cool, the leaves are alive with beautiful colours. Inside, the whirr of sewing machines can be heard amongst the laughter. It must be Patchwork in the Peaks! BNQ is proud to host this semi-annual quilter’s retreat, consisting of four day long weekends in the French Alps (Morzine).
Surrounded by gorgeous alpine views, it will be easy to slip into relax mode. There will be daily workshops and tutorials to inspire and motivate your creative spirit. Hosted in a beautiful four-storey chalet with inspirational views, mornings are spent in classes on various techniques and afternoons leave time for individual instruction or time to
work on your own personal quilting PhD’s (Projects half Done). I have more than 18 years of experience quilting and teaching various techniques. My mission with Peaks is to give quilters a dedicated time & space to discover, develop and revel in their creativity.
Peaks is conveniently located approximately one hour from Geneva, at Chalet 4 Vents, in Morzine, France. The four-storey, traditional chalet features beautiful old style charm with modern conveniences thanks to its owners, The Mountain Lodge Company. Along with comfortable beds in elegantly decorated bedrooms, you’ll discover an open, bright roomy workplace, large lounge with comfy sofas, fully catered meals, Jacuzzi hot tub & sauna.
You’ll find individual work tables, design walls, cutting boards, rulers, and pressing stations with irons, all organised to help you have a productive, stress-free weekend. You can bring your own machine or rent one of mine for a nominal fee. Mornings will feature workshops and tutorials and all afternoons are unscheduled to allow you plenty of time to get on with finishing any PhDs (Projects half Done) that you may have brought or learning a new technique.
You’ll have two Quilt Fairies (me & Gina) to help you out with any questions or you can ask for a crash course on a topic of your choosing. Chalet 4 Vents overlooks the centre of Morzine so you can just as easily take a relaxing walk if you choose. The sewing areas will be open at all times. Early Birds & Night Owls welcome!
The Busy Needle Quilting Mobile Shop will have a selection of cut fabrics, needles, rulers, cutters, boards, batting, and other miscellaneous quilting tools at reduced prices. I have a selection of Quilter’s Dream batting, in twin or queen size, various lofts available as well. If you wish to have a king size of a particular loft, you can let me know ahead & I’ll bring it along. Quilters can “run a tab” for shop items and will be billed via Paypal after Peaks. We’ll have access to nail services, at additional charges depending on the services chosen. A local masseuse will be on-site to give 45 minute massages in the afternoons. You will need to pre-book a space. There is an additional charge of chf 70.
